MATERIAL ANALYSIS

Total ESD solutions has the knowledge and facilities to investigate the electrical conductivity properties of your products and materials.

This can be done for both solid (sheet) materials, as well as powders or granules.

These analyses can be performed in our own laboratory, under conditioned climatic conditions with a range of 10 °C to 55 °C and 5 %R.H. to 95 %R.H.

But also on (your) location.

Electrostatic conductivity properties

The available instruments for measuring electrical resistance have a measuring range of 0 to 100 TOhm.

The applicable standard test methods include:

ASTM D257 Electrical conductivity of insulating or dissipative materials

IEC61340-2-3 (ANSI STM 11.11/ ANSI STM 11.12) Solid flat materials

IEC61340-4-1 (ANSI STM7.1) Conductive/ dissipative floor tiles or coatings

IEC61340-4-2 (ANSI STM 2.1) Electrostatic charging of clothing (textiles)

IEC61340-4-3 (ANSI STM 9.1) ESD safe footwear

IEC61340-4-6 (ANSI STM 1.1) ESD wristbands

IEC61340-4-7 (ANSI STM 3.1) Ionizers (only on-site analysis and calibration possible, in connection with correcting the effects of the environment on the ionizer function)

IEC61340-4-9 (ANSI STM 2.1)  Electrical resistance of (groundable) electrostatically safe clothing

Electrostatic charging properties

Electrostatic charging of your products, machines or materials can be measured in various ways: contact (measuring range max 10.5 kV) and non-contact (max 3 kV)

Small materials can also be examined in the Faraday cup present in the laboratory, where the exact charge nanoCoulomb (nC) can be registered (measuring range 2µC, with a resolution of 10 pC).

On-site analysis of electrostatic charging of your machines and/or setups is also possible, through means of the available (mobile) charge probe.
